In February 2023, BION provided support for Hekima Home and School in Kajiado County, which looks after children in the most urgent need of rescue and care. Some of the girls who come to the school have been orphaned, others abused or abandoned, some are survivors of sexual violence and arrive with PTSD. Some are living with HIV and others have been orphaned by the virus. The school helps them heal physically and emotionally by providing medical care, counselling, nutritious food and meeting all their basic needs.
